Brett was born and raised in San Diego. His career path included work for Pacific Bell as a telephone repairman. He was among the first to own a PC (before hard-drives) and wrote programs to construct stock trades on his own. His computing adventures led Pacific Bell to advance him as a PC engineer, programmer, analyst, and engineer for Pac Bell. During this time he wrote a program for a friend to automate the processing of applications to the FCC. A magazine did a cover story on the program and it quickly became a mainstay program for companies interfacing with the FCC. Brett transitioned to working full time for his software company. He discovered Rotonda West by accident. Inspired by its over-whelming appeal for raising his 8-year-old son, he bought a home and moved there in 1994. Brett and Deb met soon after Deb moved to Englewood. They were married, and together they have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. Deb was hired as a scheduling coordinator at a large Englewood Dental office. With 30 years’ experience in the field, she was quickly promoted to Office Administrator coordinating the practices of 4 doctors, 6 hygienists, and 20 staff members. In 2005, Brett accepted a buy-out for his software company. That’s the same year the Florida Real bubble began its crash. With so many Realtors bailing, Brett saw this as a golden opportunity to jump in. In 2007, Brett earned his Brokerage License and formed Brett Slattery Realty LLC. The following year Deb joined the firm and quickly gained her Broker status. Working together as Real Estate Brokers is a perfect fit for Deb and Brett. We both have life-long passions for photography. We do our own photo shoots to ensure every shot showcases our listings in the best light possible. Photographers for hire dictate when they are available. But we time our shoots relative to the home’s angle in relation to the sun along with the weather. Brett is a 9-year, certified FAA pilot who does all drone filming and production in-house. Whereas the vast majority of drone pilots simply do aerial shots from fixed locations, Brett sweeps the drone from ground level to 400’ circling through trees, over the waterways, along the pool cage, and around the home. This presents a “You Are There” sensation for buyers. Another benefit we offer you is exceptional local knowledge. We collectively have 54 years as Rotonda West residents. Brett has served as The Rotonda West Association’s Vice President, Secretary, Public Relations Chair, and 3 years on the Board of Directors. He has also served for 15 years as a Real Estate Columnist for The Sun Newspapers. And served as an “expert witness” in multi-million dollar trials. Deb’s organizational skills streamline our office to where it will always be Brett or Deb who answer your calls. With 34 years of collective experience, we prefer keeping our office small enough that we are always here for you. |
